Liquid Facelift

Non-Surgical Facelift

Any surgical procedure can be an intimidating prospect, and that’s true of a facelift. The results are permanent, and the recovery can be painful. A surgical facelift is a major commitment. Many Houston Clear Lake Area patients, therefore, opt for an alternative known as the Liquid Facelift.

Glowing Reviews

A Liquid Facelift is a general term used to describe any number of non-surgical facelift procedures. While the most well known such procedure might be BOTOX®, there are also other options such as Radiesse®, Juvederm®, and Perlane®, Restylane, and Voluma. Each procedure is designed to smooth out the look of the face, they simply use different methods and materials to accomplish that goal, and therefore have different strengths and weaknesses.

All of the Liquid Facelift procedures listed here are performed by Dr. Polsen in the Houston Area, so if you have more questions, or you’d like to discuss which treatment is best for you, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Overview:

  • A non-surgical procedure that provides some of the youthful look of a traditional facelift.
  • Specific areas of wrinkles are targeted and injected with liquid filler
  • Recovery: A day or two

Who is a Good Candidate?

If you’re looking for a Liquid Facelift, it’s probably because you want the results of a surgical facelift without the commitment or surgery involved with a traditional facelift. Still, you should be in relatively good health, and have a realistic idea of what a Liquid Facelift can accomplish.

The Procedure

A Liquid Facelift is usually performed as an outpatient procedure, meaning there’s no reason to keep you anywhere overnight. Dr. Polsen will work with you to target areas of wrinkles you want to eliminate. Each of those areas will then be injected with the liquid filler that will give you the best results, as decided by Dr. Polsen and yourself. Most often, the so-called “smile lines” are targeted first, as those are among the most prominent signs of aging.

Depending on the products used and the areas targeted, liquid facelifts usually last between 1-2 years, but this highly depends on filler you and Dr. Polsen select. Generally, however, you can anticipate the following results:

  • BOTOX®: 4 months
  • Radiesse®: 12 months
  • Restylane® and Perlane®: 3-12 months (depedning on the area treated)
  • Artefille®: Up to 5 years

The results almost always yield more youthful, radiant skin. To maintain those results, you will have to keep up with your respective procedure. Patients should also consult on their skin care options as these procedures often compliment one another.

Your Recovery

While a traditional surgical facelift can take months to fully recover from, the recovery for a Liquid Facelifts usually lasts only a day or two. In most cases, our Clear Lake patients are able to return to work immediately (there’s a reason a liquid facelift if also known as a lunch hour facelift). Each method also has specific recovery instructions, so Dr. Polsen will consult with you to make sure you have personalized recovery instructions designed to maximize the results of your procedure.
